Want to see Nashville’s history first hand?

Modern Nashville is a city of great and rapid change, but it is our largely past that we have to thank for that. As a community, we have welcomed new Nashvillians with open arms but hope that while enjoying our ever-increasing options in dining, parks, event venues, and more, they will take some time to visit those places that best reflect where we come from and learn from Nashville’s history.

Whether you’re new to our booming city or have lived here all your life and begun to take it for granted, take some time out your busy days to experience Nashville’s history and to support our museums, attractions and historic sites.

SITES, MUSEUMS, AND ATTRACTIONS

nashville's historyCare about Nashville’s history and want to advocate?

We at Historic Nashville Inc have to come understand that there are many among the masses that truly do care about the preservation of our city’s history. More often than not, a lack of action is rooted in not knowing where to start. Never fear that your voice can be heard. You will be one joining the many and we encourage you to advocate on our historic buildings’ behalf. Contact your elected officials, know our city’s zoning laws, join your neighborhood groups and be prepared to make a ruckus.

Civil Rights Tour

Published by Historic Nashville, Inc. with support from the Tennessee Preservation Trust and the MTSU Center for Historic Preservation, the Civil Rights Walking Tour Brochure was produced to promote sites in Nashville that are associated with the Civil Rights Movement. Ultimately, we want to help preserve the remaining places where these important events in Nashville’s history occurred.
