Miranda Christy graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Religion with minors in Spanish and Music (Piano). She continued her education at the Divinity School at Vanderbilt University, attaining her Master of Theological Studies degree, followed by a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee. While at the University of Tennessee, she was Managing Editor of the Tennessee Law Review, received the National Association of Women Lawyers Award and Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award and was President of the UT Law Women.
She is involved with a number of organizations in the Nashville community, including Nashville Classical Charter Schools, the Davidson County Juvenile Court Foster Care Review Board, The Nature Conservancy, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.
