Join Historic Nashville Inc. for a members only tour of Music Row!
President Brian Mansfield will lead a walking tour of the western outskirts of Music Row, featuring stories about Waylon Jennings and the 1970s outlaw movement, Neil Young, the Allman Brothers, and others. We will meet at 11 am in the alley off Edgehill Avenue behind 1117 17th Ave. S. This walking tour will cover about one mile and end with a light lunch around the guitar-shaped pool adjacent to Spence Manor.
The Spence Manor Motor Hotel was built in a midcentury modern brutalist style to serve the stars (including Elvis Presley) who visited Nashville to record on Music Row. The guitar-shaped pool on the property was built by Webb Pierce to accommodate his fans after his neighbors complained about fans coming to Pierce’s house to see his personal guitar-shaped pool.
